Plant Care
Light: Thrives in bright, indirect light. It can tolerate lower light conditions but may grow more slowly and become leggy. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch the leaves.
Water: Allow the top inch of soil to dry out between waterings. Water thoroughly, ensuring excess water drains from the pot. Reduce watering in the winter when the plant's growth slows down.
Humidity: Prefers moderate to high humidity. Increase humidity by misting the leaves regularly or using a humidifier, especially in dry indoor environments.
Temperature: Ideal temperatures range from 65°F to 80°F (18°C to 27°C). Keep away from cold drafts and temperatures below 50°F (10°C).
Soil: Use a well-draining potting mix, such as a blend of peat, perlite, and pine bark. Good drainage is essential to prevent root rot.
Fertilizer: Feed with a balanced, liquid houseplant fertilizer every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer). Reduce feeding in fall and winter.
Repotting: Repot every 1-2 years or when the plant becomes root-bound. Choose a pot that is 1-2 inches larger in diameter and ensure it has good drainage.
