Plant Care

Light: Provide bright, indirect sunlight for your Nanouk plant. It thrives in ample light but should be shielded from harsh, direct sunlight, which can scorch the leaves. A north or east-facing window with filtered sunlight is ideal.

Temperature: Maintain a warm environment with temperatures between 65-75°F (18-24°C). Avoid exposing the plant to cold drafts or temperatures below 50°F (10°C).

Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Water when the top inch (2.5 cm) of the soil feels slightly dry to the touch. Watering needs may vary depending on your home's conditions, so check the soil regularly.

Humidity: Nanouk plants appreciate moderate to high humidity levels. Increase humidity by misting the plant regularly, using a humidity tray, or placing a humidifier nearby, especially in dry indoor environments.

Soil: Use a well-draining potting mix. A mix formulated for indoor plants or a combination of potting soil, perlite, and peat moss works well.

Pot: Choose a pot with drainage holes to prevent waterlogged soil. Repot your Nanouk when it becomes root-bound, typically every 1-2 years.

Fertilization: Feed your Nanouk with a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer diluted to half strength every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer). Avoid over-fertilizing, as it can lead to salt buildup.

Pruning: Trim or pinch back leggy or overgrown stems to encourage bushier growth and maintain the plant's shape.

Propagation: Nanouk plants can be propagated from stem cuttings. Simply snip a healthy stem and place it in water or potting mix until roots develop.

Pests: Keep an eye out for common indoor plant pests like spider mites and aphids. Inspect your plant regularly and treat any infestations promptly with insecticidal soap or neem oil.
