Graptopetalum Amethystinum is also known as Wedding Almond, Jewel Leaf Plant, Lavender Pebbles, or Wine Coolers. It is a rare species that is similar-looking to moon rocks rather than a plant. This plant has a round and plump set of leaves with shades of green, pink, and lavender. The leaves contain powdery coatings that can further add up to its moon rock look. This dainty beautiful plant is coveted for special arrangements and wedding florals.

Scientific Name: Graptopetalum Amethystinum

Origin: Mexico

Plant Type: Succulent

Size: 2-4”

Propagation: During summer or spring, leaf cuttings are the best means to propagate this plant. You can also clip offshoots and plant the stems in soil.

Growth Habit: Trailing/Sprawling

Light: Partial to full sunlight

Water: For this succulent, fresh to moist soil is preferred so you always have to check for the moisture of the soil by poking the soil at least a couple of inches from the surface to see if the moisture seeps in until that depth. If not, just sprinkle with water and wait until the water is absorbed into the soil. After a few hours, recheck for the moisture level. Never overwater this succulent or else it will die. Water it freely during the summer season but give it little water during the winter.

Zone: 9

Temperature: This plant does best in warm climates, keep away from frost.

Fertilizer: For optimal growth, apply liquid fertilizer during its growth period through the spring and summer months.

Tips: Use a well draining soil along with an organic fertilizer to help bolster the plants natural defenses against pests.
